Weekend round up - rocking and rolling, to chilling and milling
The Lady Mayoress is pleased to report that the versatile Interplay Theatre was transformed from a super seventies style roller disco on Saturday night into a laid back coffee shop with books galore. From the frenetic, with lots of thrills and spills, to the positively catatonic with lots of lounging!
The Lady Mayoress and the next Parliamentary Candidate for West Leeds Labour party (Rachel Reeves) joined the sweat shop workers last week at Interplay Theatre in a bid to boost morale, and break the back of the longest clothing line in the West. Jane Earnshaw the festival director, tirelessly fixed bobbins, mopped brows, fed and watered us. Before we knew what had happened Rachel and the Lady M were sewing solo and in straight lines. Rachel a virgin to all things thread and needle like, managed to whip off at least 40 pairs of pants which was no mean feat. Rachel went away happy that she had learnt a real skill!
